Bicyclist victim of hit and run near Protivin

The Howard County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle that struck a bicyclist.
On Friday December 25, 2020. The Howard County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call of a bicyclist that was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Willow Ave & 200th St., northwest of Protivin that occurred at approximately 2:00 A.M.  By analyzing car parts left at the scene, it was determined that it was a dark grey 2003-2007 Cadillac CTS that struck the bicyclist and left the scene.  The striking vehicle should have front end damage and possibly be missing a fog light.
The 58-year-old male who was struck was taken by ambulance to Cresco and later transferred to St. Mary's in Rochester with serious injuries.
