Corrections to articles

CRESCO - A few items that were incorrectly stated in the Times Plain Dealer have come to our attention. Staff would like to take the time to correct those errors.
• In the Oct. 9, 2019 TPD, in the article regarding Bingo in Lime Springs, it was stated the legal age of playing bingo is 21 and nobody under that age can be in a Bingo hall at that time.
Chapter 99B of the State Code does not give an age limit on playing Bingo as a charitable game. Other Bingo venues are willing to allow youth under 21, but at this point, Lime Springs is going to stay with 21 as the minimum age to play.
• In the Oct. 16, 2019 article about Payge Duerre competing in the Miss Iowa Pageant, her last name was mis-spelled in the title, but correct in the story. The Times apologizes for the error.
• In the Oct. 16, 2019 cutline about the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame mural. It should have stated that each time Crestwood has a state champion, that number is changed on the mural. It has been amended twice. The school is up to 67 state champs.
