Cresco man in critical condition after rollover

SARATOGA - Howard County Deputy Richard Hollenbeck reported on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m., Michael Klennert, age 49, of Cresco, lost control of his 2003 Dodge Intrepid. It rolled several times before coming to rest on its top.
Klennert was driving north on Grove Ave., near 115th St., when he lost control and the vehicle entered the east ditch. It then rolled several times. The driver was pinned in the vehicle and was extricated by Fire and Rescue.
Klennert was airlifted to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for life-threatening injuries. The Howard County Sheriff’s Office says, as of Sunday afternoon, Klennert was listed in critical condition but is expected to survive.
Riceville Fire and Rescue, Riceville Ambulance and Regional Health Services of Howard County assisted with this crash, which remains under investigation.
