Eight vie for Little Miss Cresco title

 

CRESCO - Eight young ladies are vying for the title of Little Miss Cresco 2017, as part of Norman Borlaug Harvest Fest.  
Briana Burke, Emma Godman, Eva Sebastian, Karlee Henry, Kayli Hinck, Kenzie Gallagher, Lauren Fortney, and Zoey Mehmert are in the running and will be judged on poise, personality, and the interview process. In order to be in the contest, the young lady must be in fourth grade, must have a Cresco address, and must not have run in the past for the title. 
Judging will take place Wednesday, Sept. 13 at CUSB Bank, Grange Hall. The public is invited to the coronation of Little Miss Cresco and Miss Congeniality (chosen by the contestants) Friday, Sept. 15 at 4:30 p.m. in Beadle Park (part of the opening ceremonies for Norman Borlaug Harvest Fest). The contestants will also be in the parade on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Briana Burke is the daughter of Amanda Burke and attends Crestwood Elementary. She loves reading, writing, riding bikes, going to movies, riding horses, and hanging with family and friends.
Lauren Fortney is the daughter of Nikki and Derrick Fortney and attends Notre Dame Elementary. She enjoys bowling on the youth league, softball, reading, math, and loves to be outdoors.
Kenzie Gallagher is the daughter of Tom and Stephanie Gallagher and attends Notre Dame Elementary. She enjoys spending time with friends, camping during the summer, swim team, softball, and basketball.
Emma Godman is the daughter of David and Krista Godman and attends Notre Dame Elementary. She enjoys reading, writing, art, dancing, and piano.
Karlee Henry is the daughter of Jeni and Rob Henry and attends Crestwood Elementary. She enjoys softball, volleyball, tennis, cheerleading, soccer, gymnastics, camping, arts and crafts, and four-wheeling.
Kayli Hinck is the daughter of Sheila Omar and Tim Hinck and attends Crestwood Elementary. She enjoys rodeo, basketball, reading, and helping others.
Zoey Mehmert is the daughter of Brent and Kelli Mehmert and attends Notre Dame Elementary. She enjoys playing piano, reading outside, biking, running, fishing, planting flowers, and swimming.
Eva Sebastian is the daughter of Casey Sebastian and Cambria Bullerman and attends Notre Dame Elementary. She enjoys arts and crafts, showing cattle, animals, and dancing. 
Bella Smoltz, 2016 Little Miss Cresco, will be on hand to crown the 2017 Little Miss Cresco. She is the daughter of Vicky and Chris Smoltz. 
The winner will participate in many of the weekend’s activities and will be an ambassador for the town of Cresco for many events in the year following the crowning.
