CRESCO - Howard County was privileged to host this year’s Northeast Iowa Family STEM Festival on April 11 at the Fairgrounds in Cresco.
In the past, the event has taken place in Calmar. To spread the fun, it was held in Cresco this year and will also be held in Decorah on rotating years.
There were 20 exhibitors who gave around 350 youth an introduction to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
Jeff Beneke from the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council helped sponsor the event. “The idea behind the festival is to promote, inspire and create awareness for STEM opportunities and careers.”
It worked! The youth attending were having fun and ran from booth to booth to see what new things they could learn.
