Fine Arts Show coming

—Fifty-eighth event set for Aug. 4
CRESCO - Area folks should be saving the date — Sunday, Aug. 4 — so they can attend the Fine Arts Show in Cresco. There will be all sorts of fun stuff to do, food, browse and purchase during the 58th annual event.
The judge this year is Shannon Dallenbach Durbin, the Executive Director at ArtHaus in Decorah. She attended St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, Minn. and MCAD’s Women’s Art Institute. She taught high school art at Starmont before moving into a career in Art Non-Profits.
Durbin co-created the Art in the Park Festival in Elkader and has worked to expand creative programming with the ISU Extension and Outreach.
She loves creating all forms of artwork, but finds the most joy in assemblage sculpture. When not curating gallery shows, planning after-school programs and advertising fine art events at ArtHaus, Durbin enjoys being with her family, traveling and cooking local foods. She met her husband, Bryce, when they were both studying art in Florence, Italy. Together they have created a couple of collaborative art shows and three little boys Link (10), Felix (5) and Iggy (11 months).
In addition to the Fine Arts Show on Aug. 4, Cresco is hosting the Fly-In Breakfast that morning.
