H-W CSC annual meeting

Cresco - Not much changed after the Sept. 17 Howard-Winneshiek Community School District annual meeting, held before the regular monthly meeting.
The big change was switching the meeting night from the second Monday to the third Monday of the month. Business Manager/ Board Secretary Robyn Lane explained it will save on finance charges. Bills are not paid unless approved by the board. Sometimes not all the bills have been received by the second Tuesday, making them overdue if not approved until the following month.
Director Karlos McClure suggested letters be sent to vendors who are used to getting their checks earlier in the month.
All directors voted to have the regular meetings at 6 p.m. on the third Monday at Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) for the 2018-2019 school year.
In addition, all voted aye to appoint Lane as Board Secretary and Treasurer for 2018-2019.
The other vote at the annual meeting was for the board to elect the President and Vice President of the board.
McClure nominated Alison Holten as President, and Todd Hill nominated incumbent Duane Boder-mann. On a sealed vote, Bodermann was elected 3-2. McClure then nominated Holten for Vice President, and Hill nominated incumbent Toni Johnson, who was elected 3-2.
The meeting was then adjourned, and the regular board meeting was held.
