—Same local history; new displays, added information, not crowded, more organized
Members of Howard County Historical Society have been working hard for the past year at the Howard County Historical Preservation Museum, located at the Fairgrounds in Cresco.
At last year’s Mighty Howard County Fair, the addition to the original building was dedicated. Since then, members have been reorganizing and expanding displays in the entire museum. Some of the oldest farm machinery has been moved to the new addition.
Other items have been moved out of storage and arranged for guests to enjoy. Still other displays have been combined to make a more cohesive visitor experience.
One of the tour guides for the May 1 open house, Bootie Kapler, commented, “I have no idea where some of this stuff came from. I’ve never seen it before.”
With more room available to display more items, those walking through the museum during the 2022 fair will be pleasantly surprised to see the new old antiques!
