DAVIS CORNERS - There was an accident on Monday morning, Dec. 30 at 8:25 a.m. on Hwy. 63, about one mile north of Davis Corners at Souhrada’s wildlife area.
Moustapha Kassem, age 69 of Cedar Rapids, was traveling northbound when his 2010 Toyota Corolla lost control on the ice and entered the east ditch striking several trees.
He and his passenger Hassan Kassem, age 55 from Lebanon, were not injured.
The vehicle was considered a total loss. Assisting Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Beckman at the scene was The Iowa State Patrol and Northeast Iowa Motors.
