CRESCO - Do you know of someone who could benefit from receiving a meal who is homebound? If you do, Meals-on-Wheels is your answer! It may brighten their day when someone delivers their food. The meals are delivered by local volunteers under the direction of the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging. To see if you qualify for home delivery, call the Agency at 563-379-9737 and speak to Patty Scholtes, the Service Specialist.
If you are tired of eating alone or you don’t want to cook for yourself, we have a solution for you. The handicap accessible meal site at Kessel Lodge in Cresco provides great food and good company. The well-balanced meal is served Monday through Friday at 11:30 A.M. except holidays.
Reservations are required for meals served at the meal site by noon the day before you want to eat. For a Monday meal, please call on Friday. Call the Agency at 563-379-9737. A contribution is recommended for the meal. You pay whatever you can afford if you are 60 years of age or older. The average contribution is $5.00. Those under the age of 60 are welcome but will be required to contribute the full cost of the meal, which is $8.28.
If you would like to volunteer to deliver the meals to those living in their homes, please contact the Immanuel Lutheran Church Office at 563-547-2108.
