Reading Buddies needs volunteers

Cresco - Crestwood Elementary Reading Buddies Informational Meeting is being held Sept. 25 at the elementary library. The meeting will start at 3:45 p.m., and Principal Sara Grimm will provide background information about the program and answer any questions you might have about becoming a Reading Buddy. 

RSVP Director Deana Hageman will be present to provide background information on the RSVP Volunteer Program. The informational meeting is open to anyone age 55 plus who would like to share their enjoyment of reading with students at Crestwood Elementary. 

Volunteers will spend a half hour or more with a student in kindergarten, first, second or third grade once a week. Activities will vary depending on the needs of the students, ranging from reading to a student, listening to them read and engaging students in activities designed to increase their reading skills.
