Ribbon Auction grosses $55K at Mighty How. Cty. Fair

 

CRESCO - The 4-H and FFA ribbon auction at the 2017 Mighty Howard County Fair grossed $55,225 for the county youth this year. The average ribbon was $418.37 for the 132 ribbons sold. This compares to $473.18 for the 124 ribbons sold last year.
There were 50 buyers. The highest ribbon bids were as follows:
Dairy ribbons for Sawyer Reis and Alyson Reicks both brought $900, bought by Art’s Mill and A & J Construction respectively.
Poultry ribbon for Lyli Kunert brought $675 purchased by Ristau Farm Service.
Meat Goat ribbon for Tanner Tlusty brought $250 purchased by North Iowa Dairy Goat Sales.
Horse Ribbons for Makiah Pierce brought $700 purchased by Pierce Welding and Keeaunna Wilson horse ribbon purchased by LaRita Pierce brought $700.
Beef ribbon for Madison Fitzgerald brought $800 purchased by Russell and Therma Fitzgerald.
Rabbit ribbon for Paige Schmitt brought $375 purchased by CIA Insurance.
Sheep Ribbon for Sierra Hansmeier brought $400 purchased by CUSB Bank.
Swine Ribbons for Hailey Reicks brought $900 purchased by CUSB Bank and April Halverson ribbon brought $900 purchased by Camp-Site RV.

Local Auctioneers helping were Wayne Mlady, Dean Eastman, Lyle Eastman, Ryan Eastman, John Anderson, Richard Shindelar, and Dan Donlan. A 15% commission of $8283.75 goes to the general funds of 4-H and FFA in our county for youth activities after fair auction expenses.
