Sold out crowd at Elma’s Murder Mystery Dinner

Elma - A sold out crowd filled the Elma Memorial Hall Saturday, March 10th as the Elma Events Committee hosted their first Murder Mystery Dinner. “Earlier this year we come up with the idea and with the help of many we pulled it off,” shared Nate Dockendorf in opening comments at the event.
Participants were served prime rib or chicken cordon bleu dinners along with a devious murder case that was provided by actors of the The Murder Mystery Company, LLC. Everyone had the opportunity to solve the interactive murder mystery.
Dockendorf went on to say Elma Locker and Grocery  catered the meal, Legion and The BRIDGE Organization  sponsored the event and many volunteers made it happen.
“We wanted something fun and different for people to do in Elma, plus raise money to support future events such as our Old Roundhouse Trail Days which will be July 13, 14 & 15th this year,” said Laura Zenner, a community member who was also a lead in the Murder Mystery. “The community is excited to be preparing for a “better than ever” “Trail Days”.
In addition to annual events at Trail Days such as 5K, parade, food, kids games, car show, etc., they will also be hosting the North Iowa Tractor Ride on Friday and they recently booked Danni Bilidt to open for the Johnny Holm Band for Saturday night’s entertainment. Zenner added “It is going to be another really fun weekend in Elma and we hope people are telling their friends and families to put it on their calendar!” For more information on future events in Elma Iowa go to www.elmaia.com or “like” Elma, Iowa on facebook.
