Vintage Snowmobile Show

CRESCO - Visitors to the 50th Anniversary of Snowfest are in for a treat this weekend as a Push, Pull or Drag Vintage Snowmobile Show is taking place on Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Featherlite Center at the fairgrounds.
Sleds will be on the grounds, from 9 a.m.-noon with prizes being given for oldest sled, people’s choice, best restored, best original and race sled.
Those snowmobiles have plenty of stories behind the handlebars, and the owners will be happy to share some of the good ones with others.
After the awards ceremony, a vintage sled ride will be leaving for a ride to Vernon Springs.
Past-President Brandon Plaht was excited to have the event again this year. “I know from reading past Snowfest schedules there was always a vintage show, and we felt we would try one and see how it goes. There are not a lot of area vintage shows, and we wanted to see what locals had for different sleds and bring them out to show everyone.
“I know from reading past Snowfest newspaper ads, there were a lot of brands and models in the 1970s, with many of them not around anymore. So it is interesting to see what companies made snowmobiles and the names for them.”
