SCHLEY - Doris E. Mrachek, age 81, of Schley, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 at her home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa, with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday morning at the church prior to the service. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at Schley.

Doris Evelyn Schwickerath was born on March 14, 1940 to Victor and Rose (Gebel) Schwickerath in New Hampton, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Alta Vista, Iowa.
On Oct. 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Sylvester Mrachek at St. Bernard’s in Alta Vista, and to this union, three girls were born, Connie, Linda and Karen. Doris farmed with Sylvester all her life. She adored her family and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and being with her friends.
Doris is survived by her husband, Sylvester of Schley; daughters, Connie Mrachek of Alta Vista, Linda Mrachek of Schley and Karen (Bob) Anderson of Austin, Minn.; grandson, Aaron Randak of Schley; brother, Claire Schwickerath of Maryland; and sister-in-law, Marlene Schwickerath of Charles City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Victor Schwickerath; and siblings, Earl Schwickerath, Ellen Wiest, Arlene Heying, Millie Webber and Lavern Schwickerath.
