MANLEY - Garry L. Cross, age 75, of Manly, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at the MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City, Iowa. 
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Garry was born on Aug. 17, 1944 in Hershman, Ill. to Cledes and Winnifred (Spoonamore) Cross. He graduated from Bardolph High School in 1962. He married Sandra Voight in 1965, at the Free Methodist Church in Macomb, Ill. To this marriage were born two children, Jim and Jennifer. Garry spent 33 years working at C. S. Norcross & Sons in Bushnell, Ill. After retirement, in 2003, he and Sandy moved to North Iowa. He spent many years in Illinois and Iowa performing his drama ministry, “Voice of Calvary,” at area churches.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Voight) Cross, of Manly, and his children, son, Jim (Merri) Cross of West Des Moines, Iowa, and daughter, Jennifer (Iain) Anglin, of Silver Spring, Md. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Hannah Cross, of Lincoln, United Kingdom; sister, Rita Johnson, of Macomb; and special nephew, Doug (Beth) Stenger, of Prairie City, Ill., along with other nieces and nephews.
Garry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joan Ames and Marcella Lester; and brother, Cletes Cross.
Garry, also known as “Thunder Chicken,” enjoyed a good time with all he came into contact with, especially known for his unique humor and laughter.
