CRESCO - Gerald Herman Rinken, age 75, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at his home in Cresco, Iowa.
Public visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020 at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco. A private family burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery with Father Jacob Rouse officiating.
Gerald was born to Phillip and Christine (Jauert) Rinken, on June 11, 1945, in Decorah, Iowa. He enjoyed farming for the majority of his life and worked for both the Wilson Meat Packing Company and the Carlson Construction Company for a short period. He enjoyed spending time outside by hunting and fishing, watching sports and had a special place for the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Cubs.
Gerald is survived by his siblings, Robert (Bonnie) Rinken of Decorah and Kenneth (Shirley) Rinken of Rochester, Minn.; sister-in-law, Sandy Rinken of Green, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaVerne Rinken; sister, Marie (Jim) Neelans; one nephew; and one great-niece.
