SPRING VALLEY - Justin M. Johnson, age 19, of Spring Valley, Minn., died on Monday, June 28, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Justin Michael Johnson was born on Dec. 5, 2001, the son of James Johnson and Lisa Phillips, in Rochester, Minn. He was a 2020 graduate from Kingsland High School in Spring Valley.
At the age of 15, Justin began working for Sunshine Foods and remained there until after graduating. He was a true outdoorsman who liked fishing and hunting. He enjoyed working on cars and collecting coins.
He is survived by his mother, Lisa Phillips of Stewartville, Minn.; sisters, Sydney (Charles) Morgan of Albert Lea, Minn., Morgan Phillips of Spring Valley, Addison Johnson of Alta Vista, Iowa and Aubrey Johnson of Alta Vista; brother, Daxus Dotson of Alta Vista; maternal grandparents, David and Pam Phillips of Spring Valley; paternal grandparents, Terry and Carolyn Johnson of Lime Springs, Iowa and Cecelia and Randy Flugge of Cresco, Iowa; niece, Skye Morgan; and stepmother, Jenny Johnson of Alta Vista.
Justin was preceded in death by his father, James Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, donations to NAMIMinnesota are suggested.
