Kristin ‘Kris’ Moen, 63

CRESCO - Kristin “Kris” Moen, age 63, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Private family services were held at Lindstrom Funeral home, with Pastor Tim Sir officiating. Graveside services at Calvary Cemetery in Cresco along with a Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.

Kristin Inez Moen was born on Jan. 10, 1957 to Orville and Imogene (Anderson) Qualle in Atlantic, Iowa. Her family moved to Cresco when she was in elementary school. She continued her education in Cresco, graduating early with the Class of 1976.

On Oct. 8, 1982 Kris married the love of her life, John Moen, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. To this union two sons were born, Michael and Eric.

Her working career included clerking at Red Owl Grocery, waitressing at the Stop Lite Café and 40 years at Rockwell Collins as a quality controller.

Kris had a wide range of hobbies, which included quilting and sewing, painting, listening to music, fishing the Upper Iowa River for small mouth bass, spending countless hours in her flower gardens and her love for pets, especially cats and dogs. 

Those left to carry on her memory include her husband, John of Cresco; her two sons, Michael (Chealsey) Moen of Colwell, Iowa and Eric Moen of Cresco; and a sister, Paula (Ron) Lapic of Rochester, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Imogene Qualle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to HOCA (Howard County Cancer Association) in her honor.
