Marilyn Anderson, 90

CRESCO - Marilyn Anderson, age 90, beloved wife and mother, passed away at home of natural causes on July 16, 2020, surrounded by her family. 

A family service was held at First Lutheran Church in Cresco on July 18, with burial at Fremont Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Marilyn Jeanette was born on April 16, 1930, in Hallock, Minn., the daughter of Myron and Minnie (Skogan) Henderson. She attended school in Kittson County, graduating from high school in Lancaster, Minn. in 1948. She then attended Luther College, attaining her rural school teaching certificate and teaching for the next few years near Kendallville, until her marriage on Nov. 3, 1951, to Erlin Theodore Anderson, at the Fremont Lutheran Church. 

The couple farmed in Winneshiek County near Kendallville until April 2000, at which point they moved to Cresco, Iowa. They became the parents of six children, Virginia “Ginger” (Keith) Anderson-Larson, Rebecca “Becky” Anderson (Andrew Tully), R’Delle Anderson (Paul Ely), Lorri Anderson (Steve) Vaughn, Paula (Steve) Green and Donald “Don”  (Jaci Dusheck) Anderson.

Marilyn is survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her “sister/cousin,” Lila Benson Christensen; her sister-in-law, Heidi Henderson Woldridge; her niece, Patti Henderson; her brother-in-law, David (Lois) Anderson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews on both the Henderson and Anderson sides of the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, her sister, her nephew and her son-in-law.
