Cadet boys bounce North Fayette Valley, 52-14

 

WEST UNION - A quick start and great defense helped the Crestwood varsity boys’ basketball team tally a 52-14 win over North Fayette Valley Saturday on the road.
The Cadets raced to a 20-3 lead after one period, pushed the lead to 37-7 at halftime and led 48-14 after three periods. The win improved Crestwood’s record to 7-6.
“We got off to a great start on offense in the game,” Cadet Head Coach Lynn McCormick said. “Our defensive press hurt North Fayette Valley early, and we forced some turnovers which led to some easy baskets. This was another great team defensive effort.”
Clayton Ollendieck led the Cadets with 18 points, had two assists, four steals and one rebound. Kristian Szajna had 11 points, including three three-pointers, four assists and two steals. Carter Henry had nine points, including one three-pointer, four steals and one block.
Zack Lane tallied seven points, had five rebounds, one assist and one steal. Shane Vokaty had three points on one three-pointer, and one assist. Jon Henry had three points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. 
Garret Ollendieck had one point and one rebound. Boston Ferrie had four rebounds and two assists. Chandler Crouch had two rebounds. Jacob Andera, Kendall Cotant and Bryer Thompson each had one rebound.
The Crestwood varsity boys’ basketball team will host Clear Lake on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
