Charles City grabbed an 18-8 lead after one period and went on an 18-2 run in the second quarter to take a 36-10 halftime lead. The Comets led 49-26 after three periods.
“We started off slow in the game, and we had a very poor first half,” Cadet Coach Lynn McCormick said. “We played better in the second half, but we couldn’t recover from the poor first half. I give Charles City credit. They came right after us, and we did not respond very well.”
