Class 3A baseball playoff pairings released

WAVERLY - The Class 3A baseball playoff pairings were recently released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
In Class 3A Substate 3 District 5, Crestwood will play Waverly-Shell Rock at 7 p.m. in Waverly on July 14 in the district semifinal. Decorah will play Charles City on July 14 in the other district semifinal. The district final will be July 17 at 7 p.m. in Waverly. The substate final will be held on July 19 at 7 p.m. in Waverly.
During the regular season, the Cadets won one of three games against the Go-Hawks. Waverly-SR beat Crestwood, 2-1, in Cresco on June 14. On July 3, the Cadets split a twinbill (3-0 and 0-2) against the Go-Hawks.
The District 5 winner will face the District 6 winner in the Substate final. Teams in District 6 include: Dubuque Wahlert, Union, West Delaware and Independence.
