Crestwood football team falls to Algona in first round of playoffs

CRESCO - A solid team effort by the Crestwood varsity football team fell short against Algona on Oct. 26 in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs as the Bulldogs defeated the Cadets, 45-20. Algona led 24-14 at halftime before adding two third quarter touchdowns to take a 38-14 lead into the fourth. The loss ends Crestwood's season at 6-4 overall, including a 5-0 mark and first place in District 3. Algona will face Waukon in the second round of the playoffs on Nov. 2.
