Kittelson, Fousek advance to State Finals; Thomas, Burnikel win consolation matches

DES MOINES - Crestwood freshman Anders Kittelson (113 pounds) and junior Carter Fousek (126) both won their semifinal matches at the Class 2A State Wrestling Tournament on Feb. 19 to advance to the championship match scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20. Kittelson won a 3-2 decision over Tucker Stangel of Osage in the semifinals at 113. Fousek won a 9-3 decision over Joe Weaver of Atlantic in the semifinals to punch his ticket to the finals for the third straight year. Chase Thomas (138) won a 7-4 decision in the consolation quarterfinals and Treyton Burnikel (220) won a 5-0 decision in consolation quarterfinals.
