No. 10 Crestwood girls rout Oelwein, W-SR, MV; lose to Kee, West Delaware

OELWEIN - Crestwood pitcher Laken Lienhard tossed a no-hitter to help the Class 3A No. 10 Cadet softball team earn a 4-0 win over the Oelwein Huskies on June 4 on the road.

Taking on a solid Lansing Kee squad on the road on June 5, the Cadets held a 2-0 lead before Kee rallied for two runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to win 4-2.

Competing at Waverly-SR on June 7, Crestwood took a 3-0 lead and held off the Go-Hawks to earn a 4-2 win.

Playing at the Jesup Tournament on June 8, the Cadets crushed Maquoketa Valley, 10-3; and they lost to West Delaware, 0-4. Games scheduled for June 9 were cancelled because of the weather. Crestwood’s overall record is 9-6.

 

Cadets 4, Oelwein 0

Laken Lienhard chalked up the win in the pitching circle as she tossed seven strong innings, allowed no hits, two walks and struck out 12 during Crestwood’s 4-0 win over the Huskies.

Crestwood scored single runs in the second and third innings, and it added two runs in the sixth.

Shannon Pisney tallied two hits, including one triple, had one run and one run batted in. Ashley Voves had two hits, including one triple, two runs and one RBI. Trista Foster posted two RBI. Kaylee Thomas had one hit. Lienhard had one hit and one run.

Kee 4, Cadets 2 (8 in)

Crestwood held a 2-0 lead after six innings before Kee scored two runs each in the seventh and eighth innings to notch a 4-2 win.

The Cadets scored single runs in the first and fifth innings.

Ashley Voves led Crestwood with three hits, including one double, and one RBI. Shannon Pisney had two hits, including one double. 

Laken Lienhard had one hit and one run. Trista Foster tallied one hit and one RBI. Kristen Reicks had one hit. Annie Mast scored one run.

Laken Lienhard was the losing pitcher. She tossed seven innings, allowed four hits, four runs (three earned) and no walks.

Cadets 4, W-SR 2

Crestwood bounced back from the loss to Kee with a solid 4-2 win over Waverly-Shell Rock on June 7 on the road.

The Cadets scored one run in the second and two in the third to take a 3-0 lead. Waverly-SR sliced Crestwood’s lead to 4-2 in the fourth but could not get any closer.

Laken Lienhard posted two hits, including one double and one home run, two runs and two RBI. Taylar Pecinovsky had one hit and one run. Shannon Pisney tallied one RBI.

Madison Steffen had one double and one RBI. Kayla Lentz posted one hit. Kristen Reicks had two hits. Annie Mast scored one run.

Lienhard earned the win. She pitched seven innings, allowed five hits, two earned runs, one walk and struck out nine.

Jesup Tourney

The Cadets split two games at the Jesup Tournament on June 7. Crestwood ripped Maquoketa Valley, 10-3, in the first game; and the Cadets lost to West Delaware in game two, 0-4. Statistics from the West Delaware game were not available.

Cadets 10, M.V. 3

Crestwood raced to an 8-0 lead after two innings against Maquoketa Valley and won easily, 10-3.

Shannon Pisney posted two hits, including one triple, one run and three RBI. Lienhard and Voves each had two runs and one hit.

Pecinovsky and Trista Foster each had one RBI. Kayla Lentz had one run. Kaylee Thomas had one hit and one run. Shelby Pisney tallied one hit. Kyleigh Foster, Annie Mast and Kailyn Erickson each scored one run.

Lienhard was the winning pitcher. She tossed three innings, allowed no hits, no runs, one walk and struck out four. Kaylee Thomas went two innings, allowed four hits and three earned runs. Hallie Frohn pitched one inning.
