Students applaud Crestwood athletes before State Track Meet

CRESCO - The Crestwood High School, Junior High and Elementary students gave the Crestwood State Qualifying Track athletes a proper sendoff on Wednesday, May 16. The students applauded and gave the track athletes high fives as they walked through the halls Wednesday afternoon. The Cadet girls' team qualified for the State Track Meet in 10 events while the boys' team qualified in three events. The girls' events include: 3000 meters (Ellie Friesen and Cassidy Ihns); Long Jump (Katie Saner); Discus (Sharon Goodman); 100 dash (Saner); Distance medley relay; 1500 (Ellie Friesen); 200 (Saner); 800 (Ellie Friesen); 4x800 relay; and Shot Put (Kristen Reicks). The boys' events include: High Jump (Logan Albert); 110 hurdles (Chris Guest); 400 hurdles (Guest). The Class 3A State Track Meet will be held from May 17 to Ma 19 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
