A ground-breaking ceremony was held on Monday, April 2, in preparation of demolition of the 1882 structure of the Howard County jail the following day. Those with golden shovels are Sheriff Mike Miner, Supervisors Don Burnikel and Jan McGovern, Auditor Julie Chapman and Deputy Tim Beckman.
