American Legion Post 135 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4561 hosts 2024 Veteran's Banquet

CRESCO - The Veteran’s Day Banquet celebrated those who have served in the United States military. Veterans from nearly every war was in attendance and recognized for their sacrifices.
Leon Roethler, the American Legion Post 135 Commander opened the banquet, and Gary Johnson, the Legion Post 135 Chaplain followed with an opening prayer. Dinner was catered by McAllister’s Catering.
After the Posting of the Colors, Gary Froiland performed the Star Spangled Banner with a saw and bow.
Special care was taken in a Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Missing Man and Honor Ceremony.
Special guests Karla O’Connell and Theresa Fullhart spoke on the resources available within the new VA clinic.
Recognition was also given to combat wounded, purple heart recipients, and prisoners of war veterans in attendence.
To end the banquet, attendees sang “America” (My Country ‘Tis of Thee) together, and Gary Johnson led a closing prayer. The American Legion riders performed the Retiring of the Colors.
The expo center was full of veterans, friends, and family to support the life experiences of those who have served.
