CRESCO - Sometimes things happen purely for a reason, and Emerging Whole Wellness is now the “go-to place for healing” in downtown Cresco.
Catherine Meinecke, with the help and encouragement of her family, held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting this past week in opening Emerging Whole Wellness––offering holistic support for wellness.
“I started this business wanting to help people heal themselves,” stated Meinecke, who has been on a life-long journey of wellness for both herself and others since the age of 19. “Sometimes medicine just doesn’t work for an individual. Granted, there are times you need to go to the doctor, but once you leave their office, you still need someone there to support you, to help you heal. That is what Emerging Whole Wellness is about.”
Meinecke has a strong history in this practice, studying Alternative Medicines when she was 19 (back in 1994, when it wasn’t nearly as popular as of today) and recently undergoing schooling to earn her Master’s of Art in Holistic Health Studies, finishing up this year.
Where Meinecke stands above others in this expertise, is in her schooling as a nurse. She is a 1993 grad from Crestwood, went to NICC for two years earning her RN and then earned her BSN degree at Winona State. At Saint Catherine’s of St. Paul she continued her Holistic Health Studies.
She has pretty much done it all when it comes to nursing, having worked in admissions and as a triage nurse at Mayo, and has been part of a critical care team at Gundersen in Decorah, showing years of experience. She eventually went back to Mayo and worked in Behavior Health and even did a three-year stint at Crestwood School as the school nurse.
“At Mayo, I had my RN and a BSN,” said Meinecke. “They wanted me to get a Nurse Practitioner’s degree, but my heart was just not in that. I decided to expand my education in Holistic Wellness, and I’m just so glad I did. It just felt right.”
