CRESCO - Spice up your Sunday dinner plans with this delectable murder mystery that features audience participation.
“Death of a Hot Sauce Salesman” is appropriate for all ages said Gayle Kelm of Cresco Theatre Commission. That group, along with Cresco Community Theatre, are sponsoring the fun-filled event!
Kelm explained all proceeds from the dinner will go toward payments on the marquee. “We still owe $20,000 on the marquee that was restored in 2015, and this event will help pay that off.”
Tickets are $25 each and went on sale May 4. They are available at Cresco Chamber, Cresco Theatre, CUSB Bank and Cresco Bank & Trust.
During a pork loin meal prepared by local Robert Ringoen, actors will be performing in the interative play.
Prescott Knight, owner of the Hot Knights Genuine Pepper Sauce empire, discovers, on the morning of the annual Knight Family Barbecue, someone is trying to kill him. A family meeting is hastily arranged, and Prescott announces he is changing his will so the recipe for Hot Knights will pass into the right hands.
Hours later, family members find Prescott dead and the recipe stolen. His family, lawyer, housekeeper and gardener are all suspects. With the help of audience members, who have been given clue packets, the judge slowly unravels this spicy comedy filled with zany characters, outrageous lines and plenty of hot sauce!
