CHESTER - Virginia “Jill” Hamann, age 81, of rural Chester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Accura Healthcare in Cresco, Iowa.
No services are planned at this time. Lindstrom Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Virginia Cecile Hamann was born on Jan. 11, 1940 to Harlan and Marguerite (Nelms) Renner in Austin, Minn. She attended school in the LeRoy, Minn. area and graduated in 1958 from LeRoy High School.
On Oct. 24, 1971, she married Terry Hamann at the Baptist Church in LeRoy.
Her working career took her to LeRoy Products Corporation, Mayo Clinic and later in life the Rochester Farmers Market. From 1985-2018, Jill and Terry enjoyed selling meat and eggs together at the Farmers Market. They had the opportunity to meet many wonderful friends during this time.
Jill enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many outfits. She was an excellent painter — painting on silk and Rosemaling were her favorites. She loved being on the farm, raising longhorn cattle and spending time with her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Terry of Chester, and her sister, Tammy Schneider of Waltham, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
