Driftrunners take Center Stage at ISSA

AMES & CRESCO, IA – The Iowa State Snowmobile Association (ISSA) celebrated its annual awards ceremony November 14-16, 2025 in Ames, IA, recognizing outstanding contributions and achievements within the snowmobiling community. Local members from the Driftrunners Snowmobile Club took center stage, bringing home multiple accolades, including the prestigious title of “Club of the Year.”
The Driftrunners, who have been active for 56 years since their founding in 1969, received the 2025 Club of the Year award for their exceptional commitment to maintaining over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails that traverse Howard, Winneshiek, and Chickasaw counties. Their network of trails features scenic routes through ag fields, wooded areas, and hilly landscapes, making them a favorite among snowmobilers in the region.
This year’s awards also celebrated the Pat and Kim Wilson family as the 2025 Snowmobile Family of the Year. Their snowmobiling journey began over 40 years ago when Pat's father purchased an old snowmobile cheaply at a farm sale. With the help of a friend, who got it running when Pat was in 8th grade, Pat started riding and has never looked back. Kim joined the sport in 2001, and together they have been active Driftrunners members for over 25 years. During that time, Pat has served on the Driftrunners board for nine years, while Kim has been a board member for seven years. Their son, Cody, has served on the board for over a decade and has taken on important roles, including Groomer Boss and Trail Boss, helping to manage the northern portion of the trails. The Wilson family has become a staple at Driftrunners events, consistently participating to enhance the club’s activities.
