Amalia Louise Myron, 84, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home.
Molly was born on January 27, 1942, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of the late Edward and Elsie (Derr) Frank. She grew up on the Frank Family Farm outside of Schley, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and family that guided her throughout her life.
She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1959. Following graduation, she attended Iowa Teachers College. After school Molly worked at various receptionist/secretary jobs at several different places and retired from Donaldson Company in Cresco.
On August 29, 1964, Molly married the love of her life, Junior Irvin Myron, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with 57 wonderful years together. Irv and Molly made their home near Schley, where they raised Susie and Jeff with love, patience, and unwavering support.
Molly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She was the heart of the Myron household, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, home-cooked meals, and countless cherished memories. Her kitchen table was the gathering place for family discussions and holiday celebrations where she decorated above and beyond her family’s expectations.
Irv and Molly also loved traveling to many different places in the US and abroad. They took trips with family and friends to New York City, Washington D.C., Ireland, Branson, Mexico, Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, Florida, and a special Bahamas cruise with their family for their 50th anniversary.
She loved her flowers, going to grandkids activities, play Bridge, studying the bible with friends, was very active in Church activities, and going out to eat with family and friends (where you had an appetizer and dessert every time).
Molly is survived by her two children Susie Zimmerman (Bill) of Cedar Falls, IA and Jeff (Kelly) of Elma, IA.
She was the cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren: Blake, Sam, and Skylar Zimmerman and Jordan and Kyler (Michaela) Bauer and one great-grandchild, Hendrix Conger.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Irv.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to New Oregon Cemetery, Northeast Iowa Food Bank, and Crestwood Dollars for Scholars.
Molly’s legacy lives on through her family, her church and work friends, and all whose lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and love. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation was held at 9:30 a.m., funeral services followed at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Burial took place at New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco. Schmelzer Funeral Home is caring for the family.
