    Georgann Galloway, age 85, of Cresco, IA and formerly of Chester, IA passed away June 18, 2026 at Accura Healthcare in Cresco.

   Georgann Kay Myli was born August 17, 1940 in Albert Lea, MN to Robert and Alice (Land) Myli and was baptized and confirmed at the Chester Lutheran Church. She attended and graduated from Chester High School in 1959, and was united in marriage to James Galloway on August 23, 1958 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union two daughters were born; Sandra and Darla. Georgann loved farm life, specifically working alongside her husband with the feed mill, in the field, and taking care of the calves. She loved all animals deeply.

   She also worked at Sara Lee in New Hampton for a short time, owned and operated Georgann's Café, and along with Jim and Darla she ran The Upper Iowa Inn. Georgann was an excellent cook, most well known for her pies, breads, lefse and apple crisp. She especially enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and attending their school activities.

    She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Greg) Rollins of Lake City, MN, grandchildren; James (Anna) Rollins and their children Ellie, Jace and Olivia of Chanhassen, MN and James (Hallie) Gragert and their children Khloe, Kaiya and Kora of Cresco, IA. She is also survived by her siblings; Judy Strike of Chester, IA, JoAnne Thoe of Rochester, MN and Robert Myli of Cresco, IA.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in 2013, daughter Darla (Gordon) Gragert, grandson Zane Rollins and siblings Wanda Kellog, Elaine Ness, Jeanne Schacherer, Shirley Alden and Stanley Myli.

   Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2026 at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco, IA. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will take place next to her husband at the Chester Hill Cemetery, Chester, IA.
