CRESCO - Arliss K. Fox, age 78, of Cresco, Iowa, was called home on Dec. 23, 2022, from a long and courageous fight against Pancreatic Cancer, at her home in Cresco, surrounded by family.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with Pastor John Elkin officiating. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. for one hour prior to the start of the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at 11 a.m.
Arliss Kaye Fox, the daughter of Howard and Florence (Hoovel) Elkin, was born on July 16, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa. She graduated from Milford High School and went to work for Farmers Bank & Trust in Spencer. From there, she worked in the Clay Country Treasurer’s office. 
Arliss married the love of her life, Richard Fox, on Feb. 5, 1988 (one of the coldest days of the year). She moved to Estherville, and became an insurance agent at Blum & Leonard Insurance. 
The couple moved from Estherville to Nora Springs, Iowa, where she worked for Principal Financial Services. They then moved to Emmetsburg, where she was the Office Manager for E-Pride Office Supplies. Arliss retired in 2003 and moved to Cresco for Rich’s job as a Nursing Home Administrator. In 2013 Richard retired and they started “wintering” in Florence, Ariz., where they had a community of friends and loved ones.
Arliss was blessed with two children Tammy and Todd, and three stepchildren, Terry, Teresa and Rick.
Arliss and Richard enjoyed golfing and going for car rides in their Thunderbird convertible. They belonged to a car club and enjoyed the many friends they met on their weekend rides. 
Arliss belonged to the Red Hats, Bunko Club, member of the Cresco Arts Council, delivered Meals on Wheels and RSVP, where she painted nails for nursing home and assisted living residents. She enjoyed laughing and having fun with friends and family.
Arliss is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Tammy Haggart (Mike Jensen) of Omaha, Neb.; son, Todd (Patty) Brigham of Spencer; her brother, John (Connie) Elkin of Fort Dodge, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Florence (Hoovel) Elkin; her sisters, Eunice Elkin and LaVon Holtrop; brother, Ronnie Elkin; and stepson, Terry Dailey; granddaughter, Tara Dailey; and a great-grand- daughter, Olympia Fox, as well as her beloved dogs, Patches and Bo.
