CRESCO - Bryan J. Sickles, age 24, of Cresco, Iowa, died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at his home.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, March 4, at the Heritage Event Center. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home assisted the family.
Bryan John Sickles was born on May 19, 1998, the son of Garry Sickles Jr. and Lynn (Decker) Sickles in Manchester, Iowa, while a tornado siren was blaring during a storm. He was lovingly referred to as “little big Bry Bry” by his older but shorter brother, Brandon.
Bryan was always drawn to the water. He loved to go swimming when he was little, and enjoyed family trips to Wisconsin Dells. He was a 2017 graduate of Crestwood High School. He loved to play pool, be outside hunting and trying to coax fish to his line. When he was not off fishing, Bryan could be seen driving his truck around and hanging out with his friends, usually with a Busch Latte in his hand. He was the biggest teddy bear with a sweet, sometimes mischievous, smile on his face, and always ready to give anyone a hug.
Bryan was very dependable, whether it was sitting and listening to someone if they were having a bad day or lending a helping hand. He was someone who showed up for others. His comforting presence will forever be missed.
Bryan is survived by his mother, Lynn (Joe) Rose of Cresco; father, Garry (Audrey Woxland) Sickles Jr. of Mabel, Minn.; brother, Brandon (Michelle) Sickles of Gretna, Manitoba, Canada; sisters, Kennedy Rose of San Diego, Calif., Amy (Shane) Talty of Baraboo, Wis., Amy Lynn (Greg) Keane of Clinton, Iowa, Andrea Paterson of Wentzville, Mo., Amanda Hahn of Wickenburg, Ariz. and Lyndsey Hahn of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and paternal grandmother, Kathy Sickles of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Marie Decker; paternal grandfather, Garry Sickles Jr.; and grandparents, Gerald and Arletta Rose.
