Darlyne R. Praska, 88

    It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Darlyne R. Praska, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who died on June 19, 2026. Darlyne built a life full of faith, family, and service.

    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

    Darlyne Praska was born on April 21, 1938, at home on the family farm in Winneshiek County to John and Gertrude (Arens) Henry. On August 5, 1957, Darlyne was united in marriage to Leo Praska.

    Darlyne gave generously of her time and talents throughout her life. She was involved with St. Mark Catholic Church Women's Society, volunteered with Hospice of North Iowa, served with Meals on Wheels, and was a mobile communion minister. She was also involved with the Iowa Falls Boat Club and Highland Golf Club.

    Her family will remember her strength, her love, and the fire that helped shape their lives.

   Darlyne is survived by her children, Connie Reece, Ron (Beth) Praska, and Ryan (Kelly) Praska; sister, Diane (Henry) Milz; sister-in-law, Angie Praska; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; sister, Dorothy (Gene) Nadler; brother, Donald (Betty) Henry; and brothers-in-law, Arnie Drilling, Wayne Milz, and Francis Praska.
