   Sandra Lee (Necas) Liekweg, 71, of Janesville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at her home.

   Sandy was born on August 31, 1955, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Leslie Joe Necas Sr. and Virginia Faith (Farnsworth) Necas. Sandy was raised and attended school in the Limes Springs and Cresco area. Sandy was previously married and to this union she was blessed with three children, Ricky, Jennifer and Joshua. While raising her children, Sandy and her family lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Colorado, California and Germany.

   Sandy returned to Cresco where she met the love of her life, Dennis Liekweg Sr. Sandy and Denny were united in marriage on July 31, 1990, in Catalina Island, California and to this union two more children joined their family, Dennis Jr and Darin.

   After their marriage they moved to Waverly and then settled in Janesville after building a new home. Sandy and Denny’s favorite thing to do was travel to the Caribbean. Sandy enjoyed attending musicals, Broadway shows and plays in the area with her friends and her daughter, Jenni. She loved baking and cooking, especially Christmas cookies with the grandchildren. But her greatest enjoyment were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

   Sandy is survived by her husband, Dennis Liekweg Sr. of Janesville; a son, Ricky (Brandy) Mattheis of Waynesville, Missouri and his children, Ian (Britnie) and their son, Gauge, Emily and Maddy; a daughter, Jenni (Ryan) Bloes of Janesville and their children, Mason, Cooper, and Gracie; a son, Josh (Amber) Mattheis of Coralville; a son, Dennis (Donna) Liekweg Jr. of Sully and their children, Dylan and Deven; and a son, Darin (Amy) Liekweg of Punta Gorda, Florida and their children, Riley and Lily (Brady) Happel and their son, Crue; two brothers, Leslie Necas Jr. of Cedar Falls, and Duane (Lisa) Necas of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two sisters, Lori (Darrel) Andera of Cresco and Jean (Nancy) Necas of Garden Grove, California; a brother-in-law, Dale (Jessica) and a sister-in-law, Patricia; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Carolyn Lathrop, a brother, Thomas Necas, a sister-in-law, Mary Necas, a niece, Nicole Andera and Denny’s parents, Edward and Betty Liekweg.

   A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. John Zion Cemetery in Sheffield, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to St. Judes Hospital, Waverly Pet Rescue or to Cedar Valley Hospice.

   Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family.
