Shirley A. Rethamel, age 86, died on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, IA.
Shirley was born on December 10, 1937 to Edmund and Ruth (Opat) Rethamel in Howard County, IA. She grew up around Schley, helping her parents around on the farm. She enjoyed working with the farm animals, helping with field work, as well as hunting and fishing. In her spare time, Shirley liked to ride motorcycles and tend to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Shirley is survived by her brother Eldred (Patricia) Rethamel of Cresco, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Edmund Rethamel.
As per Shirley's wishes, there will be no services planned. She will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Schley, IA.
