Thomas Jerome Baker, age 74, died on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Accura HealthCare of Cresco, IA.
Tom was born on September 2, 1949 in Cresco, IA, to Gilbert and Angela (Zeman) Baker.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and a love for life's simple joys. His unwavering work ethic spa-nned various industries from farming, to road construction, digging graves and setting headstones, to working for Hawkeye Sanitation until he left to help take care of his mother. A dedicated farmer, he found joy in tending to his farm, caring for his beloved cats, raising his cows and pigs, and sharing a cold beer with friends. He also had a pet pig, Tony, who accompanied Tom throughout the house. Tom's gentle, kind, soul and devotion to his family touched many hearts. He will be remembered for his warmth and generosity.
Tom is survived by his sister Gayle Klimesh (Dan Boberg), along with his family friend Robin (Craig) Lepa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Thomas will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco with a Committal Service at Calvary Cemetery in Cresco.
