CACC trapshooting squads tally wins over SW, NH; place second at home invitational

CRESCO - The Cresco Area Clay Crushers Trapshooting Team cruised to an easy win over South Winn at home on April 24.
In the Senior Division, CACC Team 8 placed first with a score of 223, Team 5 was second at 220 and Team 7 took third at 214.
The Intermediate Division saw CACC Team 3 grab first at 203. South Winn’s Purple Team was second at 188. CACC Team 1 was third at 179.
Individually in the Senior Men’s Division, Spencer Moser of CACC was first at 49. Henry Willey of South Winn took second at 48. Kail Schmelzer of CACC was third at 47.
The top three in the Senior Ladies’ Division included: 1. Ava Ferrie (CACC) 44 (won shootoff); 2. Avery Johnson (CACC) 44; 3. Kenna Hageman (SW) 39.
Intermediate Men’s top three: 1. Atley Olson (CACC) 48; 2. Kasten Kuennen (SW) 42 (won shootoff); 3. Carson Miller (CACC) 42.
Intermediate Women’s top three: 1. Harley Fisher (CACC) 42; 2. Taylor McCabe (CACC) 41; 3. Madi Fritcher-Larson (CACC) 37.
CACC shooters who posted one perfect round of 25 included: Spencer Moser, Atley Olson, Ben Jackson and Preston McCabe.
CACC beats NH
CRESCO - The CACC Intermediate and Senior Division made it a clean sweep against New Hampton on April 25 as both teams grabbed first place.
In the Senior Division, Team 5 was first with a score of 232 after winning a shootoff against Team 11. Team 8 finished third at 230.
In the Intermediate Division, Team 1 was first at 187, Team 2 was second at 181 and Team 3 took third at 177.
Individually, CACC’s Kyle Bronner was first in the Intermediate Men’s Division with a score of 43. CACC’s Harley Fisher was first in the Women’s Division at 42.
In the Senior Men’s Division, CACC shooter Jaxson Barnes placed first with a perfect score of 50. Mason Vrba won a shootoff with Spencer Moser to place second at 49. Jaiden Fettkether of NH was first in the Ladies’ Division at 47. CACC’s Katie Pinter placed second after winning a shootoff with Lydia Bollman.
CACC shooters who posted one perfect round of 25 included: Peyton Ferrie, Colton Hruska, Ethan Tlusty, Mason Vrba, Spencer Moser and Kail Schmelzer.
Home Invitational
CRESCO - Taking on Turkey Valley, New Hampton and Charles City at its home invitational on April 29, the CACC squads competed well overall.
CACC Team 8 placed second in the Senior Division with a score of 225, which was two points behind first place Charles City. CACC Team 5 finished third at 220.
In the Intermediate Division, Turkey Valley’s Pink Team was first at 202. New Hampton Red took second at 193. CACC Team 1 was third at 184.
Individually, in the Intermediate Ladies’ Division, Harley Fisher placed first at 41. Madi Fritcher-Larson won a shootoff with Alayna Vrba to finish second at 39.
In the Senior Men’s Division, Kyle Larson was first at 48 and Mason Vrba placed third at 47 after losing a shootoff with Charles City. Vrba had one perfect round of 25.
In the Senior Ladies’ Division, Katie Pinter was first at 45.
