Cadet girls trip NH, advance to region semifinal

CRESCO - Crestwood senior Laney Peter singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to score Keira Shea win the game-winning run during a 2-1 win over New Hampton in the first round of the Class 3A Region 1 Softball Tournament on July 10 at home. The win allows the Cadets (20-7) to advance to the region semifinal game against No. 8 ranked West Delaware (24-11) on July 12 at 7 p.m. at West Delaware High School in Manchester.

The semifinal winner will meet either No. 1 ranked Dubuque Wahlert (35-7) or Oelwein (16-11) in the Region 1 Final on July 15 at 7 p.m. at the site of the highest remaining seeded team.
