Crestwood baseball team falls to Osage, WV

CRESCO - Hosting Osage in the season opening game on May 16, the Crestwood baseball team was unable to slow down the Green Devils as Osage won, 13-0, in six innings.
Playing Wapsie Valley at home on May 18, the Cadets battled hard before falling to the Warriors, 5-9.
Osage 13, Cadets 0
The Green Devils broke open a close game with three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings before adding five more in the sixth en route to a 13-0 win.
Crestwood was unable to get its offense on the right track against Osage. Landen Bergan singled in the fourth to record Crestwood’s only hit. Ryan Wilson drew one walk and Austin Hoppe reached first base on an Osage error.
The game was scoreless until the top of the third when the Green Devils tallied two runs. Osage added three runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and put the game out of reach with five runs in the sixth.
WV 9, Cadets 5
Wapsie Valley held a 5-4 lead after five innings before erupting for four runs in the seventh on its way to a 9-5 win at Crestwood on May 18.
The Warriors led 3-0 after three innings before the Cadets tied the game at three-all in the fourth. Wapsie Valley scored two runs in the top of the fifth, but Crestwood came back with one run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 5-4.
