No. 7 NFV too strong for Cadets; play R-S in playoffs Friday

WEST UNION - The Class 2A No. 7 North Fayette Valley Tigerhawks justified their top 10 ranking on Friday, Oct. 18, with a 34-7 win over the Crestwood varsity football team in the regular season finale for both teams.
Crestwood (3-5 overall, 3-2 District 3) will face Roland-Story (6-2 overall, 4-1 District 8) in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. in Story City. The winner on Friday will play in the second round on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The Cadets finished third in district play while Roland-Story placed second in its district.
During Friday’s contest against NFV, the Cadets were simply unable to slow down the Tigerhawks speedy, high-powered offensive attack. NFV finished with 151 yards passing and 169 yards rushing. Crestwood tallied 217 yards rushing but had only two yards passing.
