BOONE - Crestwood sophomore Ainsley Teeling carded a two-day, 36-hole total score of 158 (77-81, +14 over par) to place sixth in the Class 2A State Girls’ Golf Meet held at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone on May 28-29.
“It was a great environment and I’m certainly proud of her efforts and commitment that gave her a chance to get to State two years in a row,” Cadet Coach Jason Sorenson said. “She struck the ball really well and gave herself a lot of birdie opportunities.
“A big key was avoiding penalty strokes both days. She is a competitor and that’s what I enjoyed most about watching her. She continues to make a name for herself as one of the best 2A golfers in the state. We enjoy the attention she has helped bring to the Cadet golf program,” the coach said.
Chloe Bolte of Sumner-Fredericksburg posted a final score of 143 (72-71, one under par) to win the individual State title.
