Attic fire during RAGBRAI®

Cresco Community Fire Department was called to an attic fire on Friday morning, July 28, at 7:49 a.m, at 117 4th St. E. The rental home is owned by Nicole Kimber.
Fire Chief Neal Stapelkamp reported no injuries, but the family was temporarily displaced. He noted it could have been worse getting around, since 20,000-plus bicyclists and support vehicles were leaving town for Decorah.
The fire department was assissted by Cresco Police Dept., Howard County Sheriff Dept., Regional Health Services Ambulance Service and Howard County Dispatch.
