CCT Theatre Productions presents ‘An Evening of Carol Burnett’

CRESCO - For those who enjoy a good laugh and a bit of nostalgia, CCT Theatre Productions invites the public to attend ‘An Evening of Carol Burnett’, skits from the Carol Burnett Show from Pioneer Drama Service.

Shows take place at Les Fields Scene Shop, located behind the Cresco Theatre & Opera House Thursday, March 16, Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, March 19 at 2 p.m.; Thursday, March 23, Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are currently available, and may be purchased from CUSB Bank, Cresco Bank & Trust, and the Cresco Chamber of Commerce office for $10.

Director Jayne Jensen said her cast of characters is ready to bring to life 17 classic skits from ‘The Carol Burnett Show’, which was a television variety show staple from 1967-1978, and that rehearsals are entertaining for everyone involved:

“The cast and crew are in hysterics every night during rehearsal,” she said. “This is fun and funny, and not your usual play; it is one funny little scene after another.”

The cast of characters includes Aaron Hvitved, Eryn Jennings, Kary LeFebvre, Jeff Murphy, Gordon Pecinovsky, Marlene Quinn, Edie Slifka, Spiff Slifka, Joe Wacha and Sharol Zweibohmer.

Jensen said the structure of ‘An Evening of Carol Burnett’ provides new challenges to cast members:

“They portray different characters in different skits, but they are embracing the challenge,” she said.

Jensen said she hopes those who attend ‘An Evening with Carol Burnett’ will have as much fun as the cast and crew.

“We hope everyone who comes to one of our shows leaves with smiles on their faces,” she said.
