Cresco Library book displays

CRESCO - The public is invited to visit Cresco Public Library during the month of June and browse two special book and informational displays.

The American Library Association (ALA) recognizes the month of June as GLBT (Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual-Transgender) Book Month. Cresco Public Library joins libraries nationwide in providing access to GLBT literature and non-fiction books. These books will be on the display from June 1-15, and are available for checkout. The display will also include information about regional GLBT resources available to the public. 

GLBT Book Month is an initiative of the American Library Association and is coordinated through its Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Round Table. 

Beginning June 16 and through the end of the month, stop by Cresco Public Library to visit the display: June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. 

All of the books shown on the display will be available for checkout. The display will also include local and regional informational resources about Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia. Locally, the Patty Elwood Center is a long-standing leader in nursing home level dementia care.
