Donations needed to help fund Cresco RAGBRAI®

CRESCO - The Cresco RAGBRAI Committee is gearing up for the overnight stay in Cresco July 27 and is in need of donations (both cash and in-kind) to offset costs for the upcoming event. The City of Cresco, Cresco Bank and Trust, CUSB Bank, and Hawkeye Sanitation have all stepped forward to help with expenses.
The City of Cresco gave $2,000, Cresco Bank and Trust gave $3,000, CUSB Bank gave $5,000, and Hawkeye Sanitation is donating over $5,000 with in-kind donations.
Treasurer of Cresco RAGBRAI, Andy Ludeking, said, “We are very thankful that the city and these businesses have stepped forward to help offset the costs. Other donations by businesses and individuals are needed (cash and in-kind). Your donations will come full circle to help the community. Any profits made from the event will be given to fund other community projects and events.”
There are four donation levels that go with the Pedal to the Paranormal Theme: Zombie $100-$299; Ghost: $300-$499; Witch $500-$999; and Vampire $1,000 +.
Ludeking said, “All donations, large or small, are needed and appreciated. We need about $5,000 in additional donations to offset costs, making for a memorable and safe RAGBRAI. Due to the close nature of asking for donations for Cresco’s 150th Celebration last year, the committee will not be doing individual contacts for donations. We appreciate the support of our community and we need everyone’s help to ensure RAGBRAI is a success.”
To donate, simply call Andy Ludeking at Cresco Bank at 563-547-2244 or the Cresco Chamber at 563-547-3434. All sponsors will be recognized with signage during the event.
RAGBRAI t-shirts are now for sale to the public at the Cresco Chamber and at O’Henry’s for $15.
Ludeking said, “T-shirt sales raise funds for the event as well, so, if you can’t make a donation, please buy a shirt and wear it in support of the event.”
